I’m in the midst of W108/9 obsession. Not the 6.3, because cash, air suspension, and a love of beaters, but the 4.5 liter V8. It’s the product of a time when Luxury didn’t mean gimmicks and marketing oneupmanship. It was about building the most reliable, solid, rewarding sled, and putting the resources into function at the expense of form. And now I’m scouring buyer’s guides. Not good.
