We Don’t Need Any More Custom Motorcycles, We Need Prototypes / by Damon Lavrinc

This is something I’ve been mulling over for the past few months. Customs as a genre are great if you’re into the old-school build style and are content with putting craftsmanship (or something approaching it) über alles. Instead, builders have to tap into the available technology to not only create something unique, but to push the game forward. The nascent import tuning crowd figured it out in the early 90s with piggybacks and eventually reflashing ECUs. Now it’s time for the two wheeled world to shine.
